Thank you sky {The Gallery}

I’ve realised that my mood is often determined by the sky. If I wake to grey clouds, I find it hard to lift myself, to get motivated, to feel excited about the day ahead. But if when I open my eyes I can see the sun peeking through the edges of my blackout blind, and I can sense that golden light filtering in from outside, I can’t wait to get up and out. I’ll get up early and go for a run. Suddenly, I’ll race through a series of chores that under grey cloud coverage I’d probably put off tackling for another day.

After a week of hard grind at work last week, with unpredictable skies promising sunshine one minute, before turning black as night the next, I was in need of some room to breathe, and a way to let some positivity seep back into me.

So the clear blue skies the weekend brought were just the tonic I needed. And I saw a lot of them, as we headed off for our first camping trip with the twins. I was out under those gorgeous skies all day through to darkness, when I was separated from them only by a piece of canvas during the night. I saw blissful sun, puffy clouds, a horizon full of wispy clouds, a misty murky night sky one night, followed by a magical star-filled sky the next.

And my weekend spent out under those skies did the job they needed to, and I entered the new week feeling lighter, brighter, and with a fresh infusion of get-up-and-go.

Thank you skies.
